Rosario is basically an industrial and export center with a few art-deco buildings and the magnificent Monumento Nacional a la Bandera - a monument to the country's flag which includes a 240-ft/73-m tower and the crypt of the flag's designer. The monastery of San Carlos is close by and is worth a visit.

The provincial capital, Santa Fe, located 100 mi/160 km from Rosario, has an interesting history museum and the San Francisco Church.
