More4 News To Highlight Gaydar In Dot Com Series

More4 News is to show a series of special reports next week, celebrating ten years since the dot.com boom, with Gaydar being one of the successes featured.

In Dot.com Decade, fronted by Channel 4 News' technology correspondent Benjamin Cohen, the show will look back at the growth of the internet and its impact on society.

In Gaydar, to be shown on 26 March, Cohen will will use the gay community as an example of how the internet has fundamentally changed society.

Cohen, the founding editor of PinkNews.co.uk, explores the how Gaydar and similar websites have revolutionised what it means to be gay in 2008's Britain.

The film will hear from former Gaydar user and Labour MP, Chris Bryant, Gaydar co-founder David Muniz and the playwright Matthew Todd.

Other report will feature on the "dot.com" boom of 1998 and the control and ownership of the web.

"This is an exciting opportunity to mark the tenth anniversary of the dot.com boom hitting Britain and indeed set a marker that More4 News will be showcasing more technology stories," said Benjamin Cohen.
